RRI.CO.ID, The Hague, the Netherlands – The Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Indonesia to the Kingdom of the Netherlands, L. Amrih Jinangkung, formally presented his Letter of Credence to Willem-Alexander at Noordeinde Palace on Wednesday, 25 February 2026, marking the official commencement of his diplomatic mission.

The solemn ceremony followed the state protocol of the Kingdom of the Netherlands. Ambassador Jinangkung arrived at the palace in a state coach escorted by the mounted unit of the Royal Netherlands Marechaussee. The official welcome took place in the palace courtyard, where Indonesia’s national anthem, Indonesia Raya, was performed, followed by an inspection of the guard of honor.

The presentation of credentials, held in the palace’s credential chamber, formally signifies the receiving Head of State’s recognition of the Ambassador as the official representative of the Government of the Republic of Indonesia.

Following the ceremony, Ambassador Jinangkung conveyed warm greetings from the President of the Republic of Indonesia and reaffirmed Indonesia’s commitment to further strengthening bilateral ties. The meeting was described as cordial and constructive, reflecting the maturity and forward-looking nature of Indonesia–Netherlands relations.

“The presentation of Letters of Credence officially marks my mandate to advance a more concrete and impactful partnership. Indonesia stands ready to enhance sustainable economic collaboration, innovation, and other strategic cooperation with the Netherlands,” Ambassador Jinangkung stated.

Indonesia and the Netherlands have anchored their relations in a Comprehensive Partnership declaration, supported by a mutually agreed Plan of Action that guides practical implementation across sectors.

The Netherlands remains one of Indonesia’s key partners in Europe, particularly in trade, investment, sustainable development, water management, maritime cooperation, and education. Building on this momentum, the Embassy of the Republic of Indonesia in The Hague will continue to facilitate high-level engagements and promote collaboration in economic development, culture, education, and consular affairs.

As Indonesia advances its global engagement strategy, the strengthening of ties with the Netherlands underscores Jakarta’s broader commitment to inclusive diplomacy, mutual respect, and tangible cooperation, principles that resonate beyond formal government channels and into the broader realm of people-to-people and strategic partnerships.

Through sustained dialogue and collaborative initiatives, both countries aim to generate concrete benefits for their societies while contributing to regional and global stability.
