RRI.CO.ID, Amman - Indonesia’s plan to contribute troops to the International Stabilization Force (ISF) in Gaza has received firm backing from Jordan, both politically and militarily. The assurance was conveyed directly by King Abdullah II ibn Al-Hussein to Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto during a bilateral meeting at Basman Palace in Amman on Wednesday, February 25, 2026.
Indonesian Foreign Minister Sugiono later explained that Jordan’s government and military stand prepared to assist Indonesia once its contingent is deployed. “Jordan is ready to provide support when Indonesia sends troops, including technical cooperation on military matters,” he said at Marka Air Base in Amman, as quoted by Antara.
The high-level talks were led by President Prabowo and King Abdullah II, accompanied by senior officials from both sides. Indonesia’s delegation included Foreign Minister Sugiono, Energy and Mineral Resources Minister Bahlil Lahadalia, and Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya. King Abdullah was joined by Crown Prince Hussein bin Abdullah, Foreign Minister Ayman Safadi, and top military leaders.
During the meeting, President Prabowo voiced concern over escalating Israeli actions in the West Bank, warning that such incidents could undermine collective efforts to stabilize Gaza.
“We are deeply worried about the incidents in the West Bank. They risk obstructing any progress we are trying to achieve in Gaza,” he said.
President Prabowo emphasized Indonesia’s commitment to working closely with Jordan in addressing these challenges. “We want to strengthen and expand this cooperation. My team will coordinate closely with Your Majesty’s team so we can anticipate every situation together,” he affirmed. ***
