RRI.CO.ID, Pontianak - Supadio International Airport in Pontianak has placed West Kalimantan on the global aviation map after winning two prestigious honors at the 2025 Airport Service Quality (ASQ) Customer Experience Awards, announced on February 24, 2026.
The recognition highlights the airport’s growing reputation for passenger-friendly services amid rising air connectivity in the region.
Managed by InJourney Airports, Supadio was named Best Airport of 2 to 5 Million Passengers in Asia-Pacific and Easiest Airport Journey in Asia-Pacific by Airports Council International (ACI).
“These awards reflect our commitment to delivering seamless and comfortable travel experiences for passengers,” said Joko Wahyudi, Branch Communication Officer of PT Angkasa Pura Indonesia at Supadio Airport, on Wednesday, February 25, as quoted by Antara.
The ASQ program is the world’s only benchmarking initiative that measures passenger satisfaction in real time, covering both departure and arrival areas.
“Because the evaluation is based on actual passenger experiences, it serves as a key global reference for airport service quality,” Joko explained.
For West Kalimantan, the achievement underscores Supadio’s role in strengthening regional competitiveness and supporting economic growth. “Improving service quality is essential to meet rising passenger mobility and enhance the region’s appeal,” Joko added.
InJourney Airports President Director Mohammad R. Pahlevi described the awards as a milestone in positioning airports as the “face and pride of the nation.”
He emphasized that the recognition validates the company’s transformation program launched in September 2024, built on three pillars: Premises (customer-focused infrastructure), Process (institutional collaboration for efficiency), and People (globally oriented human resources), with technology as the enabler.
Vice President Director Achmad Syahir noted that the ASQ awards are not only accolades but also tools for continuous evaluation. “ASQ provides one of the most credible global benchmarks for customer experience, making it vital for improving service standards,” he said.
Supadio’s success is part of a broader achievement, with 10 airports under InJourney Airports collectively earning 32 international awards this year.
Other winners include Soekarno-Hatta in Tangerang, I Gusti Ngurah Rai in Bali, Yogyakarta International Airport, and Sultan Hasanuddin in Makassar, further cementing Indonesia’s growing stature in global aviation. ***
