RRI.CO.ID, Jakarta - Indonesian national zakat agency has stepped up coordination with Palestinian diplomats to ensure humanitarian aid reaches Gaza more effectively despite mounting logistical obstacles.

According to Indonesian National Amil Zakat Agency (Baznas) chairman Noor Achmad on Wednesday, February 25, 2026, Baznas strengthened its collaboration with Palestinian Ambassador to Indonesia Abdalfatah A.K. Alsattari to improve the distribution of assistance to Palestinians, during a meeting in Jakarta on Monday, February 23.

“Our commitment to helping Palestine will never fade and continues without interruption. Every aid package that reaches them is delivered with sincerity,” Noor Achmad said in a statement released, as quoted by Antara.

He described the partnership as a strategic effort to ensure humanitarian assistance is distributed more effectively, sustainably, and targeted at crucial sectors. According to Noor, Indonesia’s support for the Palestinian people is a permanent humanitarian mandate, and Baznas remains committed to sustaining hope in Gaza through uninterrupted aid deliveries.

“We will continue distributing aid, often with tears in our eyes as we witness the suffering of our brothers and sisters there,” he said.

Noor acknowledged that logistical barriers and blockades have frequently slowed aid delivery, particularly to Gaza. Through closer coordination with the Palestinian Embassy, Baznas expressed its hope to establish smoother distribution mechanisms, including expanding scholarship access for Palestinian students who have faced bureaucratic hurdles.

Ambassador Alsattari, in response, described the crisis in Gaza as worse than the aftermath of the nuclear bombings in Japan. Of those who survived, he said around 40 percent have lost limbs, most of them women and children.

He also conveyed greetings from the President and people of Palestine to Indonesians, expressing appreciation for Indonesia’s steadfast support.

“Indonesia stands firmly with us. Honestly, I was surprised when I arrived here, two days after my arrival, I met several women at a hotel. When they learned I was from Gaza, they began to cry. They did not even know that I was an Ambassador, they only knew that I was from Gaza,” Ambassador Alsattari said. ***
