RRI.CO.ID, Washington, D.C. - Prabowo Subianto affirmed that Indonesia respects the domestic political process of the United States and remains prepared to address all possible developments. He conveyed the statement during a press briefing in Washington, D.C., United States, on Saturday, February 21, 2026.

“We are ready to address all possibilities. We respect the domestic political process of the United States, and we will closely follow its developments,” the President said, referring to recent developments following the U.S. Supreme Court’s ruling on tariff policies.

President Prabowo noted that trade negotiations between Indonesia and the United States have been ongoing for a considerable period and have led to a mutually beneficial agreement based on respect.

“We discussed trade matters between our two countries. The negotiations have taken quite some time, which means we have reached an agreement that is mutually beneficial and based on mutual respect. I believe this is a positive outcome,” he stated.

Regarding the temporary 10 percent tariff policy, the President assessed that the measure is still beneficial for Indonesia. He stated, “I believe it is beneficial. We are prepared to navigate all possible developments.”

Earlier, Indonesia and the United States had agreed on a 19 percent reciprocal tariff rate for imports from Indonesia as part of their trade negotiations. The arrangement was reached after a series of bilateral discussions aimed at maintaining balanced trade relations and providing certainty for businesses in both countries. Prabowo emphasized that the government will continue to prioritize national interests while safeguarding economic stability and sustaining growth amid global uncertainties.
