RRI.CO.ID, Jakarta - Minister of Communication and Digital Meutya Hafid emphasized that Indonesia's participation in the Board of Peace (BoP) provides a concrete opportunity for Indonesia to engage in post-conflict stabilization and reconstruction processes, particularly for Palestine.

Based on the press release received by RRI Voice of Indonesia on Sunday, 22 February 2026, in Jakarta, Meutya stated that the BoP is a step to ensure peace in Palestine. "Historically, Indonesia has consistently voiced its support for Palestinian independence through international forums and humanitarian aid. Through the BoP, Indonesia now has a more concrete space to engage in the post-conflict stabilization and reconstruction process,"

She emphasized that Indonesia's foreign policy direction remains unchanged, adhering to the principle of a two-state solution.

Indonesia's participation in the forum is not a form of normalizing relations, but rather part of the effort to ensure that Palestinian interests continue to be advocated at every stage of peace and reconstruction discussions.

Meutya added that Indonesia's participation and commitment to supporting peace in Palestine have also garnered appreciation from world leaders.

"We saw the inaugural meeting at the BoP where Indonesia appeared to be respected and was stated by President Trump as a great country. He, President Prabowo, stated that there is already a commitment to send a very large number of troops, I think that answers all the disinformation," explained Meutya.

To protect the public's right to accurate information, the Ministry of Communication and Information Technology prioritizes digital literacy and open clarification through mainstream media.

This effort is undertaken to ensure that the public receives a complete and proportional explanation amidst the circulation of various narratives in the digital space that have the potential to cause misunderstandings.

In addition, the Ministry of Communication and Information Technology (Kemkomdigi) also monitors content that violates regulations.

"If there are indeed violations of the Information and Electronic Transactions Law, we must pay attention to them. For example, some disinformation that we consider a violation must also have access terminated, but in principle, we respond more with narratives," Meutya emphasized.

Meutya invites the public to actively check the sources of information and not easily be swayed by unverified issues. The government places transparency as a key so that every strategic policy can be understood proportionally and does not harm public interests.
