RRI.CO.ID, Washington, D.C. – Commander of the International Stabilization Force (ISF), U.S. Major General Jasper Jeffers, announced that Indonesia will take a major leadership role in Gaza. This was stated at the First Board of Peace Meeting in Washington, D.C., Thursday, 19 February 2026.

The nation will officially serve as the Deputy Commander for the International Security Force (ISF). The role gives Indonesia a high-ranking position in managing the international peace mission.

Major General Jeffers confirmed the appointment during his official address to the committee. "I have offered and Indonesia has accepted the position of deputy commander for the ISF," he stated.

The new force aims to stabilize the region and support local civilian leadership. Indonesia is among the first five countries to commit active troops to this mission. Other nations joining the effort include Morocco, Kazakhstan, Kosovo, and Albania. Two other countries, Egypt and Jordan, have also committed to training local police.

The ISF plans to divide Gaza into five different sectors to ensure safety. Each sector will receive one military brigade to help maintain peace for the public. The mission will begin in the Rafa sector before expanding to other locations. This careful strategy helps the international force grow slowly and stay organized.

Military experts have already built a combined joint operations center for the mission. This building will serve as the main headquarters for all international soldiers. General Jeffers believes these initial steps are vital for a peaceful future. He remains confident that international cooperation is the key to lasting stability.

The General ended his speech by emphasizing the importance of the mission's success. "With these first steps, we will help bring the security that Gaza needs for our future prosperity and enduring peace," he said.
