RRI.CO.ID, Washington D.C. - President Prabowo Subianto expressed optimism over recent developments in humanitarian and peace efforts in the Gaza Strip. The statement was delivered during a press briefing with reporters in Washington, D.C. on Thursday, 19 February 2026.

In a press statement issued by the Presidential Secretariat on Friday, 20 February 2026, Prabowo stated a number of improvements had been achieved, particularly in the distribution of humanitarian aid to Gaza residents.

“Yes, thank God it went well and smoothly. We can see the progress that has been achieved,” the President said.

He noted that the flow of food aid and basic necessities is now at its highest level in recent years. However, the President cautioned that many challenges still lie ahead and that achieving peace requires strong determination.

“It seems very serious. Although we are determined for this to succeed because it brings hope for peace, I also reminded in my brief statement that there are still many difficulties ahead, many obstacles and barriers,” he said.

Furthermore, Prabowo reaffirmed Indonesia’s commitment together with Muslim countries to push for sustainable peace for the Palestinian people. He also reiterated that a two-state solution is the only path toward long-term peace.

“We must be determined to achieve success for the people of Palestine. We are committed. Several Muslim countries all reaffirmed our commitment to truly achieve lasting peace,” he said.

Beyond diplomatic support, Indonesia also expressed readiness to contribute to an international mission for regional stabilization. The President said the initial deployment could take place soon.

“Perhaps the advance groups could be sent soon, maybe within the next one to two months,” he said.

The President also confirmed that Indonesia had been asked to fill the position of Deputy Commander in the mission structure. “Yes, they asked us to become Deputy Commander,” the President said.
