RRI.CO.ID, Jakarta - Indonesia has been named among the first five countries to deploy personnel to Gaza under a newly formed International Stabilization Force (ISF), marking Jakarta’s early and visible role in a multinational effort to safeguard a fragile ceasefire and support governance in the Palestinian territory.
The announcement was made by ISF Commander Major General Jasper Jeffers during the inaugural heads-of-state meeting of the Board of Peace (BoP) in Washington, D.C., on Thursday morning, February 19, 2026, local time.
“I am pleased to announce that the first five countries to send personnel to serve in the ISF are Indonesia, Morocco, Kazakhstan, Kosovo, and Albania,” ISF Commander Major General Jasper Jeffers said, as quoted by Antara.
The meeting, broadcast online by the White House and monitored in Jakarta on Thursday evening, also revealed that Egypt and Jordan had agreed to help train a future Gaza police force.
According to Jeffers, the stabilization body has two main objectives: ensuring security and stability in Gaza and facilitating the establishment of a civilian government in the Palestinian territory.
U.S. President Donald Trump publicly thanked Indonesia for its decision to contribute troops to the mission. Opening the BoP’s first leaders-level meeting, Trump highlighted that several member states had pledged not only financial support for Gaza’s recovery but also personnel to help maintain peace.

“Several countries have pledged personnel to help maintain the ceasefire and ensure lasting peace, especially to Indonesia, thank you very much Indonesia, great country, thank you once again,” Trump said.
He made the remarks while pointing toward Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto, who attended the meeting in person. Applause broke out in the room as Trump expressed his appreciation.
Inviting the audience to look toward President Prabowo, Trump described him as a tough leader who had made what he acknowledged was not an easy decision.
“Look at how tough he is. Do you think it’s easy to deal with him? Look at his face, very tough,” Trump added.
The U.S. president also praised Indonesia’s willingness to authorize the deployment of its military personnel for the Gaza peace mission. “When we needed manpower, he did not hesitate,” Trump continued.
Indonesia’s participation in the ISF places it at the forefront of the BoP initiative, which aims to consolidate security, support demilitarization processes, and help lay the groundwork for civilian administration in Gaza. ***
