RRI.CO.ID, Jakarta - Chairperson of the Audit Board of the Republic of Indonesia (BPK) Isma Yatun convened a strategic meeting with the delegation from the China National Audit Office (CNAO) in Jakarta on Thursday, February 5, 2026, to solidify preparations for Indonesia’s upcoming tenure on the United Nations Board of Auditors (UN BoA).

This high-level bilateral discussion focused on ensuring a seamless transition for BPK’s 2026–2032 membership period by leveraging China’s extensive experience as a predecessor on the board. The collaboration aims to uphold the highest standards of international financial accountability and professional integrity as Indonesia prepares to oversee the auditing of various global UN agencies starting in mid-2026.

“(We) appreciate CNAO for its continuous support and cooperation in assisting BPK through the transition of the UN BoA membership,” Isma Yatun said in an official release, on Monday, February 16, 2026, as quoted by Antara.

Furthermore, Isma emphasized that CNAO’s experience as a predecessor is vital for maintaining institutional knowledge and audit quality within the United Nations (UN) environment.

The support from CNAO is considered highly valuable for BPK in upholding professional mandates and integrity. BPK believes this partnership will ensure audit quality and institutional continuity as they prepare to take on their global responsibilities.

The courtesy meeting covered plans for knowledge transfer, strengthening technical collaboration, and addressing various audit challenges within the UN system. Both parties agreed to continue strengthening the communication and cooperation that have already been established.

This visit by the CNAO delegation is a key part of the preparation for BPK’s official mandate as a UN BoA member starting July 1, 2026. As a member, BPK will conduct audits on various UN organizations, including the UN Secretariat, UNOPS, UNRWA, and UNHABITAT.

The CNAO delegation was led by Liang Jing, the Deputy Director General of the Department of Foreign-related Audit, accompanied by Ge Sheng, the Director of External Auditors of China. From the BPK side, the meeting was attended by Bahtiar Arif, Director General of State Financial Audit VIII and International Organizations, and Yudi Ramdan Budiman, Head of the State Financial Audit Training Center. ***
