RRI.CO.ID, Jakarta – President Prabowo Subianto is scheduled to sign the Agreement on Reciprocal Trade (ART) with US President Donald Trump next week. Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs ,Airlangga Hartarto, confirmed the statement following a closed-door meeting with the President at the Presidential Palace in Jakarta on Wednesday, 11 February 2026.

The signing follows the announcement that trade tariff negotiations between Indonesia and the United States have reached a completion. Minister Airlangga emphasized that the official signing is set to take place in the middle of this month.

“Regarding the update on Indonesia-US negotiations, the President stated he will attend an event on the 19th, around which time there are plans to sign the Agreement on Reciprocal Tariffs,” he said.

The government has yet to disclose the final agreed-upon tariff rates, citing a non-disclosure agreement (NDA) clause. This upcoming signing marks a new chapter following intensive negotiations that have been ongoing since last year.

Quoted from the Ministry of Coordinating Economic Affairs website, in July 2025, the US and Indonesia issued a joint statement establishing the Agreement on Reciprocal Trade framework. Under this framework, the US committed to slashing import tariffs on Indonesian products from 32% to 19%.

Negotiations advanced further in December 2025, during a high-level meeting in Washington, D.C., between the Indonesian delegation and the Office of the United States Trade Representative. This session concluded with both nations formalizing the essential substance of the agreement regarding these specific tariff reductions.

One of the key points of the agreement is the US commitment to removing special import tariffs on commodities such as palm oil, coffee, coconut oil, and cocoa. In exchange, Indonesia has committed to eliminating non-tariff barriers that hinder bilateral cooperation through policy deregulation.
