RRI.CO.ID, Jakarta - Indonesia’s creative publishing sector is gaining international visibility as the Ministry of Creative Economy pushes local publishers to participate in global forums, showcasing high-quality books and strengthening their bargaining power in the international market.
Indonesian Deputy Minister of Creative Economy Irene Umar highlighted that Indonesian publisher Kreatifafa’s participation in global platforms offers strategic opportunities to market copyrights of local works and build networks with international publishers and distributors.
“The Ministry is committed to ensuring Kreatifafa’s presence goes beyond the local market, reaching international audiences with a blend of educational content and interactive visual approaches such as pop-up books,” Deputy Minister Irene said in a statement released in Jakarta on Friday, February 13, 2026.
Kreatifafa has been officially selected to join the Istanbul Publishing Fellowship Program 2026 in Turkiye. The Ministry believes this participation will allow Indonesian delegates to learn about new technologies and global trends in the publishing subsector.
Held from February 10–12 in Istanbul, the fellowship is a prestigious global forum that brings together leaders, innovators, and creators from around the world to foster cross-cultural collaboration and shape the future of education across generations.
Organized by the Turkish Press and Publishers Copyright & Licensing Society (TBYM) with support from the Turkish Ministry of Culture and Tourism, the event also serves as a high-profile copyright market.
CEO of Kreatifafa, Fatchul Hidayah Clairine Yuzlar, emphasized the company’s mission to open global opportunities in children’s literacy and education.
“This is an extraordinary chance to meet key figures from many countries and share Indonesia’s story. The Istanbul Fellowship is a strategic step to prove that Indonesian works meet global standards and can compete internationally,” she said.
Last June, Deputy Minister Irene inaugurated Kreatifafa’s new office in Sleman, Yogyakarta, focusing on children’s books with educational and Islamic themes. Several titles have already been licensed abroad, including in Saudi Arabia and Germany, underscoring the global relevance of Kreatifafa’s bilingual publications in Indonesian and English. ***
