RRI.CO.ID, Jakarta - Indonesian Religious Affairs Minister Nasaruddin Umar emphasized that the country continues to proactively articulate its position in international forums, including participation in the Board of Peace.

Speaking at the Presidential Palace complex in Jakarta on Tuesday, February 3, 2026, Minister Nasaruddin explained that the ministry quickly organized four seminars to interpret and expand upon President Prabowo Subianto’s recent statement at the United Nations. “We immediately held four seminars to translate and articulate the President’s remarks at the UN,” he said, as quoted by Antara.

The minister noted that these efforts are carried out through academic and religious platforms to ensure the President’s message is fully understood by the public, including Islamic organizations. To support this, the ministry leverages its network of 57 State Islamic Universities (PTKIN/UIN) across Indonesia to study and disseminate the President’s statements in global forums.

He said the seminars brought together experts from within Indonesia and abroad, including scholars from the United States and Australia, senior journalists from Palestine, and representatives from Southeast Asian nations such as Malaysia and Brunei Darussalam.

“We want to articulate Indonesia’s moderate content, including the role of pesantren, so the President’s message on world peace can be comprehensively understood,” he said.

The outcomes of these seminars are compiled into academic papers and distributed to stakeholders seeking clarity on Indonesia’s global stance and policy direction. Minister Nasaruddin believes this initiative has helped dispel public misunderstandings about Indonesia’s participation in international forums, including the Board of Peace.

“Many initially misunderstood, but after reading the seminar results presented by scholars, clerics, and experts, they realized the President’s future-oriented vision is remarkable,” he said.

He stressed that Indonesia now holds a strategic position internationally, making its active role in promoting global peace an essential responsibility. Minister Nasaruddin expressed hope that with the prayers of clerics and the wider community, Indonesia will continue to strengthen its contribution to world peace and diplomacy.

“Through the prayers of our scholars and citizens, we hope Indonesia will increasingly hold an important position in the international arena,” he said.

President Prabowo Subianto previously met with leaders of Islamic organizations at the Presidential Palace in Jakarta, where discussions included Indonesia’s involvement in the Board of Peace. ***
