RRI.CO.ID, Jakarta - Indonesia unveiled the logo for its 2026-2027 D-8 Chairmanship on Monday, January 26, 2026, highlighting its plan to strengthen South-South cooperation and promote shared prosperity among member nations.

The logo features a Nusantara compass and guiding light (jyoti), symbolizing direction, hope, and strategic orientation. Eight star-shaped elements represent the D-8 member states united as a cohesive configuration, highlighting a collective determination to strengthen economic integration, connectivity, and shared prosperity.

Quoting the official website of the Indonesian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the theme, “Navigating Global Shifts: Strengthening Equality, Solidarity and Cooperation for Shared Prosperity,” reflects Indonesia’s commitment to lead the D-8 in responding to global geopolitical and geo-economic dynamics through enhanced cooperation and South-South solidarity.

Officials anticipate that the logo’s launch will boost the D-8’s visibility both nationally and internationally, while strengthening public awareness of Indonesia’s strategic role within the organization.

In the context of global shifts, Indonesia emphasizes the importance of responsive diplomacy capable of navigating an increasingly complex and unpredictable world.

Indonesian Foreign Affairs Minister Sugiono stated during the recent 2026 Annual Press Statement that Indonesia’s diplomacy is built on principles of resilience and the ability to manage global pressures and uncertainties, including through inclusive economic and political cooperation in international forums such as the D-8.

As Chair of the D-8 for 2026-2027, Indonesia aims to prioritize tangible outcomes, focusing on strengthening economic interactions among member states, creating shared value, and increasing engagement with the business community. All initiatives under Indonesia’s leadership are designed to deliver concrete, sustainable benefits for both enterprises and communities across the D-8 nations.

This approach underscores Indonesia’s active role in promoting multilateralism and fostering collaboration among developing countries to address interlinked global challenges, positioning the D-8 as a platform for advancing shared interests in a fragmented international system. ***
