Jakarta Becomes Destination for 2026 FIFA World Cup Trophy Tour

RRI.CO.ID, Jakarta - Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung expressed his pride in Jakarta being selected as one of the destinations for the FIFA World Cup Trophy Tour by Coca-Cola. Jakarta is part of a list of 30 countries visited during the world tour.

Pramono conveyed this while attending the trophy welcoming ceremony at the Jakarta International Convention Center (JICC), Senayan, Jakarta, Thursday, 22 January 2026. He affirmed that this visit is a recognition of Jakarta's strategic position.

“The presence of the FIFA World Cup trophy in Jakarta is not just a symbolic visit, but a form of global recognition of Jakarta as a global city that has an important position, especially in the Southeast Asian region,” Governor Pramono stated in a written press release.

Furthermore, Pramono hopes that the presence of the trophy will encourage young athletes in the capital city to achieve more. Pramono explained, “Seeing the World Cup trophy in person can be an inspiring experience, especially for the younger generation in Jakarta, to nurture big dreams and a spirit of achievement at the global level.”

In addition to its inspirational aspect, the presence of this trophy is also seen as validation of Jakarta's infrastructure readiness and experience in managing international events. Jakarta's track record in hosting major sporting events is considered a major asset in competing on the world stage.

"Jakarta has extensive experience in hosting various sporting events, from the SEA Games to the Asian Games. This experience is a strong foundation for Jakarta to move to a higher level," Governor Pramono stated.
