RRI.CO.ID, Jakarta - The Indonesian Ministry of Higher Education, Science, and Technology (Kemdiktisaintek) is bolstering the nation's vocational sector by launching a strategic partnership between the Indonesian Vocational Higher Education Forum (FPTVI) and the Guangdong Education Association for International Exchange (GEAIE).

Following an official statement in Jakarta on Thursday, January 22, 2026, Director of Learning and Student Affairs at Kemenristekdikti, Beny Bandanadjaja explained that this initiative was established to prepare globally competitive professional workers. The Ministry is executing this by facilitating cross-border institutional cooperation to ensure Indonesian graduates meet international industrial standards.

"This memorandum of understanding is a strategic opportunity for vocational higher education. We hope this MoU can be implemented concretely so that it truly impacts the community," he said, as quoted by Antara.

He further explained that this cooperation is designed to encourage vocational institutions to prepare professional workers who are globally competitive.

The partnership aims to produce graduates who are competent, professional, and confident, ultimately contributing to national development. Muhammad Restu, Chairman of FPTVI, said that this MoU serves as an entry point for Indonesian polytechnics to become major players in the global market.

"It is our duty to accelerate this memorandum of understanding into something concrete. Polytechnic graduates who have the opportunity to receive training or internships in Guangdong will find the next step to enter the global market," he remarked.

One of the vital points of this agreement is the implementation of the "1+10+100+1,000=10,000" cooperation program. This specific scheme includes the formation of one cooperation center and alliance mechanism focused on 10 major industrial sectors. It also involves organizing over 100 exchange and learning activities to facilitate the two-way mobility of 1,000 students and the training of 10,000 local Indonesian talents.

The collaboration is executed through the Lingnan Artisan Polytechnic project, which focuses on developing vocational education, skill training, and talent cultivation. This project is considered a strategic solution for Indonesian polytechnics to reach a global scale by integrating industry, education, research, and talent development.

The partnership includes two-way talent exchange programs, joint education initiatives, and capacity building for educators. Previously, the Lingnan Artisan Polytechnic collaboration held a successful education fair in Padang, West Sumatra, featuring more than 11 polytechnics from Guangdong.

In addition to practice-based learning, this cooperation provides professional certification and language training for participants. Supported by the 1+10+100+1,000=10,000 scheme, Indonesian polytechnics are expected to make a significant impact on the global labor market.

This initiative is designed to foster "brain circulation," ensuring that valuable experience and knowledge gained abroad are eventually brought back to Indonesia. This cycle will help elevate the domestic industrial standard and enhance national competitiveness. ***
