Performing Briliantly, Indonesia Dominates Para Swimming on ASEAN Para Games

RRI.CO.ID, Thailand - The Indonesian para swimming team delivered a strong performance on the opening day of the ASEAN Para Games 2025 in Thailand. Athletes representing the Red and White secured six gold medals across men’s and women’s events.

The para swimming competitions are being held at the 80th Birthday Anniversary Stadium’s Aquatic Center in Nakhon Ratchasima Wednesday, 21 January 2026. From the early sessions, Indonesian swimmers showed consistency and dominance in several key events.

Indonesia’s first gold medal was claimed by Siti Alfiah in the women’s 400-meter freestyle S6 event. She delivered a commanding performance to finish ahead of her closest competitors.

The second gold medal was secured by Mutiara Cantik Harsanto in the women’s 100-meter breaststroke SB9. Her victory further strengthened Indonesia’s position in the women’s para swimming category.

Another gold medal came from Syuci Indriani, who won in the women’s 100-meter butterfly S14. The result highlighted Indonesia’s technical strength in butterfly events.

In the men’s division, Mulyadi contributed a gold medal after winning the men’s 100-meter breaststroke S5. He maintained a strong pace throughout the race to secure the top podium position.

Then, Indonesia added another gold through Muhammad Gerry, who claimed victory in the men’s 100-meter butterfly SB6. His win widened Indonesia’s gold medal tally over regional rivals.

The gold medal haul was completed by Abdil Majid Rahmad, who triumphed in the men’s 100-meter breaststroke SB7. The impressive opening-day performance reaffirmed Indonesia’s strength in para swimming and provided strong momentum for the rest of the ASEAN Para Games 2025 in Thailand.
