Indonesia Repatriates 96 Nationals from Saudi Arabia

RRI.CO.ID, Jakarta – The Indonesian Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoFA), in coordination with the Indonesian Consulate General (KJRI) in Jeddah, has facilitated the repatriation of 96 (ninety-six) Indonesian nationals/Indonesian migrant workers (WNI/PMI) from Saudi Arabia. In a statement received in Jakarta on Friday, 16 January 2026, MoFA stated that 95 WNI/PMI were repatriated from the Tarhil/Immigration Detention Center in Syumaisi, Makkah, consisting of 11 men and 84 women.
In addition to the main group, KJRI Jeddah also facilitated a special repatriation for one WNI/PMI who is paralyzed due to illness, as part of comprehensive protection efforts. MoFA stated that the WNI/PMI arrived in Indonesia on Friday, 16 January 2026, aboard Saudi Arabian Airlines flight SV 816, landing at 09:08 WIB at Soekarno-Hatta International Airport, Tangerang.
MoFA noted that the repatriation was the result of intensive efforts by the MoFA Service and Protection Team and KJRI Jeddah through consular services, coordination with Saudi Arabian authorities, and the issuance of Temporary Travel Documents (Surat Perjalanan Laksana Paspor/SPLP) for all WNI/PMI.
Upon arrival in Indonesia, the Directorate for the Protection of Indonesian Citizens at MoFA facilitated the arrival process and coordinated with relevant agencies, including KP2MI, Airport Customs, and Soekarno-Hatta Airport Immigration, for arrival procedures, handover, and follow-up actions in accordance with applicable regulations.
The Government of Indonesia remains committed to providing maximum protection, services, and assistance to WNI/PMI, including ensuring their safe and smooth repatriation to the homeland.
