KBRN, Chile: Indonesia took part in the Festival of the Nations (Fiesta de las Naciones), a cultural event held for the first time by the Municipalidad de Las Condes at Parque Araucano, Chile, on 29–30 November 2025. Carrying the theme “Travel the World without Leaving Las Condes”, the two-day event attracted around 20,000 visitors from various backgrounds.

In a statement from the Embassy of Indonesia in Chile received on Thursday (12/4/2025) in Jakarta, Indonesia was one of 47 participating countries from Latin America and the Caribbean, Europe, and Asia that opened booths and showcased their culture, cuisine, handicrafts, and tourism. Mayor of Las Condes, Catalina San Martin, stated the Festival of the Nations reflects the municipality’s spirit of embracing and building dialogue with countries around the world.

Indonesia collaborated with several local handicraft business exporters, such as Nautilus and Amush, as well as the Indonesian restaurant Nusantara Indonesia. Indonesian cultural products and cuisine were warmly received, and participating businesses recorded significant profits during the event.

Indonesia’s booth also featured the Indonesia Trade and Promotion Center (ITPC) and the Dharma Wanita Persatuan (DWP) Santiago, an association of spouses of Indonesian civil servants. Throughout the festival, visitors enjoyed a gamelan performance by the Gamelan Sudakarta group, traditional Indonesian dances, and a Pencak Silat demonstration by the Pusaka Serak group.

A Bahasa Indonesia introduction session titled “Getting to Know Indonesia Through Its Language” also drew strong interest from attendees.

The lively festival received enthusiastic responses from the public, who appreciated the richness of Indonesian culture and traditions. Indonesia’s participation in the Fiesta de las Naciones is expected to further strengthen cultural promotion and people-to-people relations between the two countries.
