KBRN, Jakarta: Large-scale medical aid from Malaysia arrived in Aceh on Saturday, November 29, 2025, at 7.00 p.m. local time, confirmed the Aceh Hydrometeorological Disaster Management Post in Banda Aceh on Sunday, November 30, 2025. The significant shipment landed at Sultan Iskandar Muda Airport in Blangbintang Subdistrict, Aceh Besar Regency, marking a critical international relief effort following the recent disasters.

As quoted by Antara, the aid consisted of two million pieces of medicine and medical equipment weighing two tons. This assistance was delivered using a special cargo aircraft from Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

The shipment of medicines and medical supplies was channeled by Gomez Medical Services alongside the Blue Sky Rescue Malaysia humanitarian team. The Aceh Hydrometeorological Disaster Management Post confirmed that this was the first international medical shipment to enter Aceh following Cyclone Senyar, which had caused severe damage across various regions since November 22, 2025.

Cyclone Senyar triggered extreme rainfall of more than 400 mm in two days, leading to flash floods and massive landslides throughout Aceh. Previously, Aceh Governor Muzakir Manaf declared the province to be under a disaster emergency response status following the widespread floods and landslides.

The disaster emergency status will last for 14 days, effective from November 28, 2025, to December 11, 2025. The declaration is expected to accelerate the mobilization of logistics, evacuation efforts, and cross-agency support to handle the disaster that has now spread across various parts of Aceh.

In Aceh, temporary data indicates that currently, 47 people have died, 19 people are missing, and tens of thousands of residents have been displaced. ***
