KBRN, Jakarta: The UK government recently launched its first cyber trade mission in Indonesia from October 27-29, 2025. The aim of this Cybersecurity Trade Mission is to deepen cooperation in securing Indonesia's rapidly growing digital economy.
The trade mission brings together 11 leading UK companies, including innovative cybersecurity firms and academic initiatives, to build direct relationships with government, industry, and academia.
The UK delegation will participate in a series of activities in the critical infrastructure sector, designed to build practical collaborations and partnerships.
Key activities include a business matchmaking event that serves as a platform for building relationships between the UK and Indonesian business communities, as well as a UK-Indonesia Cybersecurity Forum, where experts from both countries will exchange ideas, share best practices, and discuss collaborative approaches to securing critical infrastructure and developing cyber competencies.
The UK has demonstrated its support for Indonesia's efforts to build secure cyber governance through the Indo-Pacific Cyber Program, led by the UK's National Cyber Strategy.
Through this trade mission, we are bringing leading UK cyber companies, renowned for their cutting-edge innovation and technical sophistication, to explore opportunities and provide support for Indonesia in strengthening its digital resilience and developing its cybersecurity ecosystem within the ambitious "Towards Indonesia 4.0" roadmap.
This roadmap is expected to lead Indonesia to become a digital economy leader by 2030. British Ambassador to Indonesia Dominic Jermey said in Jakarta, Monday (10/27/2025), that the UK and Indonesia can build systems that protect their citizens, empower businesses, and uphold democratic values in the digital age.
The UK looks forward to continuing the collaboration to achieve the shared goals of economic growth and shared prosperity for the UK and Indonesia, under the Strategic Partnership framework that will be signed by President Prabowo Subianto and Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer in the coming weeks.
