KBRN, Jakarta: The Indonesian Halal Product Assurance Organizing Agency (BPJPH) and the Indonesian Embassy (KBRI) in Beijing are strengthening the oversight of halal compliance for products imported from China.

Deputy for Coaching and Supervision of Halal Product Assurance at BPJPH, Chuzaemi Abidin, stated in Jakarta on Wednesday, October 15, 2025, that this synergy aims to ensure halal-certified products originating from China and circulating in Indonesia consistently meet established standards, from upstream production to downstream distribution.

"This collaboration reflects BPJPH's strong commitment to protecting and maintaining the peace of mind of Muslim consumers in Indonesia," Chuzaemi said, as quoted by antaranews.com.

He further emphasized that concrete action is necessary to ensure the continuous halal integrity of Chinese products that have obtained Indonesian halal certification.

"Consistency in the implementation of the halal product assurance system, from upstream to downstream, must be guaranteed, so that the resulting products are truly maintained as halal, and the Muslim-majority Indonesian public can consume them without doubt," Chuzaemi stressed.

Deputy Chief of Mission (DCM) of the Indonesian Embassy in Beijing, Parulian Silalahi, welcomed the initiative, expressing the Embassy's readiness to encourage and monitor the assurance that halal products from China shipped to Indonesia meet the established halal standards, thereby ensuring public comfort and safety.

As a follow-up measure, he announced that a BPJPH Halal Product Assurance Supervision Team, in collaboration with the Indonesian Embassy in Beijing, will soon conduct an in-depth inspection at several business locations in China.

"The focus of the inspection will include production sites, supply chains, and slaughterhouses scattered across various provinces in China," he detailed. ***
