KBRN, Jakarta: The Government of Russia, through the Russian Embassy in Indonesia, has officially launched the Russian Government Scholarship Campaign for the 2026–2027 academic year. Russian Ambassador to Indonesia, Sergie Gennadievich Tolchenov, told RRI Voice of Indonesia in Jakarta on Wednesday (17/9/2025) that this year the Russian government is providing 300 scholarships, an increase from last year’s 250.
"As of now, we have a quota of 300 scholarships. So, everyone interested in studying at Russian universities, please check this advertisement, find the links, and you can explore the fields of study, career paths, and available universities in Russia, and then please get in touch with us,” Tolchenov stated.
The ambassador explained that this scholarship program provides Indonesian citizens the opportunity to continue higher education in Russia with tuition fully covered by the Russian government. He said the scholarship is open for all levels of education, undergraduate, postgraduate, and professional development programs.
“Now we’ve got a little bit more, but I believe that interest will be more, because we are trying to work on it not only in Jakarta but also in other regions like Sumatra, Sulawesi, and Maluku,” Tolchenov added.
He further said that participants can choose from more than 400 fields of study at 700 universities across Russia, not only in Moscow, but also in Siberia and the Russian Far East. In the city of Tomsk alone, he noted, there are about 100 Indonesian students currently studying at a technical university, in various faculties ranging from nuclear science and computer studies to medicine.
