KBRN, Jember: The Jember Marching Band (JMB) has delivered a stunning performance on the global stage, solidifying its reputation as a powerhouse by clinching five gold medals and the overall champion title at the Marching World Band Championship (MWBC) and National Competition (NATCOMP) 2025 in Malaysia.

The team's exceptional achievement, a historic moment for Indonesian marching bands, was showcased by their remarkable dominance in key categories.

"Not only did we seize the overall championship title, but JMB also successfully brought home five gold medals in the Street Parade category, specifically for best uniform, best brass, best percussion, best color guard, and best visual," said Jember Marching Band Manager Tri Basuki in a written statement received in Jember on Monday, September 15, 2025, as quoted by antaranews.com.

He expressed his gratitude and pride for the team's success in securing four trophies in the Street Parade event. Additionally, they swept five gold medals and took the lead in the preliminary rounds of the Marching Show, Brass Battle, and Drum Battle.

Beyond their Street Parade dominance, JMB's performance also shone brightly in the preliminary rounds of the Marching Field Show, where they secured the top spot in the Marching Show, Brass Battle, and Drum Battle categories against formidable teams from various countries.

"Jember Marching Band also performed powerfully in two categories, namely Brass Battle and Concert Band, successfully advancing to the semifinals with the highest score among 15 participants," he remarked.

According to Tri Basuki, the final Drum Battle presented a tough challenge against the Pasig City Crown drumline from the Philippines. However, he remained optimistic that the team would sweep all four categories with gold medals for Indonesia's Red and White.

The marching band championship, held at Darul Aman Stadium in Malaysia from September 12-14, 2025, featured a panel of 10 international judges from Japan, the Philippines, Taiwan, Indonesia, and Thailand, along with five judges from Malaysia. JMB, representing Indonesia, competed in five of the seven categories offered and emerged as champions in every single one.
