He was greeted by Qatar's Minister of Defense, Sheikh Saoud Bin Abdulrahman Bin Hassan Bin Ali Al-Thani, and a line of honor guards before heading to Lusail Palace for an official meeting with the Emir of Qatar, His Highness Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani.
According to Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya, the visit was a direct response to an Israeli military strike on Doha on Tuesday, September 9, 2025.
"The president decided to come to Qatar immediately after the Israeli attack on Doha. This is a form of direct solidarity and support from Indonesia for the government and people of Qatar," he said.
The president had a phone call with Emir Sheikh Tamim two days prior, on Wednesday, September 10, to check on the situation in Qatar following the attack, which reflected the strong friendship between the two nations.
During their official meeting, President Prabowo expressed sympathy and concern for the Qatari people affected by the Israeli attack. He emphasized the importance of international solidarity in responding to such aggression and urged the world to act to stop all forms of aggression that harm civilians.

In response, the Emir of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim, thanked Indonesia for its support and reaffirmed his commitment to working with Indonesia to strengthen global diplomacy on humanitarian issues.
"Indonesia reaffirms its solidarity with the government and people of Qatar. We are committed to supporting all diplomatic efforts to achieve a just, comprehensive, and lasting peace in the Middle East," said Teddy.
He added that the visit aligns with Indonesia's constitutional mandate to participate in the implementation of a world order based on freedom, lasting peace, and social justice. President Prabowo was accompanied by Foreign Minister Sugiono and Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya. ***
