KBRN, Jakarta: Indonesia and Malaysia reaffirmed their shared commitment to the Two-State Solution as the most viable path to resolving the Israeli–Palestinian conflict, calling it the only route to a just and lasting peace for Palestine.

"We continue to support Palestine's independence. Only a Two-State Solution can end this conflict," President Prabowo Subianto said during a joint press statement with Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim at Merdeka Palace on Friday, June 27, 2025.

The two leaders discussed not only bilateral ties but also broader regional and global issues. President Prabowo emphasized that both countries support a peaceful resolution to the conflict in Palestine and advocate for a unified international effort.

"Indonesia and Malaysia view a collective global effort for peaceful conflict resolution as necessary," he said.

President Prabowo has consistently voiced Indonesia's support for Palestinian independence in various international forums. For Indonesia, the Two-State Solution remains the only legitimate path to peace.

A 1974 United Nations resolution endorsed the concept of an independent State of Palestine existing alongside Israel.

It gained further traction through the 1993 Oslo Accords, where then-Israeli Prime Minister Yitzhak Rabin and Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO) Chairman Yasser Arafat formally recognized each other's right to exist.

However, the Oslo framework faced resistance from hardline factions on both sides. ***
