KBRN, Jakarta: The 2025 Indonesian Street Food Festival (ISFF) at Queen Victoria Market in Melbourne became the launching point for the Taste of Indonesia platform, which serves as a database of Indonesian restaurants in Australia.

The Embassy of the Republic of Indonesia (KBRI) Australia, in a press statement received on Sunday, said that the platform, which can be accessed through www.tasteofindonesia.com.au, aims to help local people find and enjoy Indonesian cuisine.

ISFF 2025 is organized by the Indonesian Culinary Association of Victoria (ICAV) in collaboration with the Indonesian Consulate General in Melbourne. The event itself is part of the Melbourne Food and Wine Festival (MFWF) 2025.

This year was the second ISFF, featuring 20 stalls offering a variety of culinary specialties from all over Indonesia, ranging from traditional food to modern creations.

“Seeing the enthusiasm of the Melbourne community for Indonesian food is very encouraging. We hope that the festival, which has become an annual agenda, will further introduce Indonesian cuisine not only to the diaspora but to the entire Australian community,” said ICAV Chairman, Heri Febriyanto as quoted by antaranews.com.

The festival, which was officially opened by Indonesian Ambassador to Australia Siswo Pramono, marked a bigger celebration of Indonesian cuisine in Melbourne. It attracted more than 25,000 visitors consisting of local Australians, the Indonesian diaspora and the INSEAA (Indonesia Student Exporter Association in Australia) student community.

In addition to Indonesian snacks, ISFF 2025 also presented various cultural performances, cooking performances, and the direct presence of SME products from Indonesia.

ISFF 2025 also became a promotional event, not only for the Indonesian diaspora in Melbourne, but also for Indonesian MSMEs who want to expand their market in Australia. It also served as a real implementation of the UMKM BISA Export program through business matching conducted with the Canberra Trade Attaché. ***
