RRI.CO.ID, Jakarta - Indonesia continues to strengthen the professionalism of its football sector by enhancing the capacity of medical personnel who support athletes' health and performance.
According to the official website of the Ministry of Youth and Sports on 23 June 2026, the Football Association of Indonesia (PSSI) is holding the Football Medical Workshop 2026 at Avenzel Hotel and Convention in Cibubur, East Jakarta, from 22 to 24 June 2026. The event brings together doctors, physiotherapists, and medical professionals involved in Indonesian football.
PSSI emphasized that competent and certified medical personnel are a key component in building a professional football ecosystem. High-quality medical care helps maintain players' physical condition, accelerate injury recovery, and support sustainable athletic performance.
During the event, which was also attended by Minister of Youth and Sports and PSSI Chairman, Erick Thohir, the association emphasized that players remain the central focus of national football development. Therefore, all supporting elements, including medical teams, play an important role in ensuring athletes remain in optimal condition.
"Players are the most valuable assets in football. Maintaining and ensuring athletes remain in peak condition is a shared responsibility, including through the support of professional and competent medical personnel," PSSI stated during the forum.
The workshop aims to improve competencies and standardize the quality of medical services within Indonesia's football ecosystem. Through the training, participants are expected to provide professional, timely, and responsive healthcare services to support athletes' performance and long-term development.
PSSI hopes similar training programs will continue to be conducted regularly, particularly ahead of national football competitions. According to PSSI, strengthening the capacity of medical personnel is part of broader efforts to enhance Indonesia's football ecosystem, making it more professional, competitive, and capable of competing at the international level.
