RRI.CO.ID, MadinaMadinah - Indonesia monitors the health of Hajj pilgrims upon arrival at AMAA Airport in Madinah. The update was delivered in Madinah on Monday, May 4, 2026.
Health checks are conducted immediately, especially for pilgrims experiencing complaints after long flights. This early monitoring ensures conditions are handled quickly from the arrival point.
Based on airport health service records, 81 pilgrims received medical examinations upon arrival. Meanwhile, 12 were placed under observation, 10 referred to KKHI Madinah, and 10 to Saudi hospitals.
Airport Health Officer, Kadhafi, said complaints vary depending on each pilgrim’s physical condition. Symptoms include fatigue, dizziness, nausea, mild shortness of breath, and cases requiring observation.
He explained that all complaints are handled based on each pilgrim’s condition and medical needs. The response aims to ensure quick and appropriate treatment from the start.
“Pilgrims’ complaints vary, including weakness, dizziness, nausea, and mild shortness of breath, with some requiring observation. We handle all cases based on each individual condition,” he said.
Meanwhile, Head of Airport Working Area, Abdul Basir, highlighted the importance of health readiness in arrival services. He stressed that officers must respond quickly and direct pilgrims to appropriate facilities.
He added that coordination among health officers, group officers, and airport services continues to be strengthened. This ensures every pilgrim needing assistance can be handled quickly and accurately.
“Pilgrims’ health is an essential part of ensuring smooth Hajj operations. That is what we maintain from the very first arrival point at the airport,” he said.
