Indonesia, UNICEF Sign Health Cooperation Deal 2026–2030

RRI.CO.ID, Jakarta - The Indonesian Ministry of Health and UNICEF signed the Programme Document (ProDoc) 2026–2030 to strengthen the national health system and accelerate human development targets. The agreement focuses on improving healthcare access and quality, particularly for women, children, and vulnerable groups.

As quoted by a press release on Thursday, April 30, 2026, the partnership includes funding of USD 35.9 million covering financing, procurement, and technical assistance. The support is aimed at enhancing service quality and expanding access to healthcare for underserved communities.

“This Programme Document must serve as a driver of transformation, not merely a framework for activities," Health Ministry Secretary General, Kunta Wibawa Dasa Nugraha. He added that they are committed to ensuring effective implementation through good governance, transparency, and a results-based approach.

The collaboration aligns with Indonesia’s Medium-Term Development Plan (RPJMN) 2025–2029 and the United Nations Sustainable Development Cooperation Framework (UNSDCF) 2026–2030. It is designed to strengthen health system resilience amid growing global challenges.

Meanwhile, UNICEF Indonesia Representative, Maniza Zaman, welcomed the agreement in strenghtening cooperation for children and family in Indonesia. "This collaboration is expected to accelerate the achievement of health and human development target sustainably," she said.

Implementation will involve coordination across ministries, institutions, and regional governments. The program will emphasize accountability, efficient resource use, and results-based delivery.

The Ministry of Health stated that the partnership goes beyond administrative cooperation. It is positioned as a strategic effort to reinforce Indonesia’s healthcare system and deliver sustainable public health outcomes.
