RRI.CO.ID, Bogor – A total of 25 mayors and city government delegations from the Association of Indonesian City Governments (APEKSI) Regional Commission III gathered in Bogor City on September 28–29, 2026, for the 45th APEKSI Mayors Talk: Climate and Urban Resilience agenda. Taking place at Bogor City Hall and the IPB International Convention Center, this strategic forum focused on strengthening urban resilience against global climate change as well as the El Nino and La Nina extreme weather phenomena.

Quoted from an APEKSI written press release, Bogor Mayor Dedie A. Rachim, acting as the host, asserted that amid fiscal dynamics and limited regional budgets, inter-city synergy is absolute. He emphasized that this synergy is crucial to restoring and reinforcing the status of resilient cities.

The forum's discussion also centered on the transformation of waste management from upstream to downstream. Bogor City shared best practices regarding the transition toward controlled landfills, the integration of digital waste stations, and the acceleration of Waste-to-Energy (PSEL) projects.

A collaboration space was also opened for the younger generation and circular economy practitioners to actively become agents of environmental disaster mitigation. From a leadership perspective, APEKSI Regional Commission III Chairman and Pekalongan Mayor Achmad Afzan Arslan Djunaid reminded attendees that the foundation of urban resilience is rooted in the integrity of policy-makers in generating breakthroughs amidst budget challenges.

As its main output, the meeting produced the 2026 Bogor Communique. The 2026 Bogor Communique is a strategic policy recommendation and proposal document that will be submitted to relevant ministries at the national level.

APEKSI Executive Director Alwis Rustam stated that this forum serves not only as a platform for horizontal learning. It also functions as a vehicle for regional advocacy in fighting for solutions related to Transfers to Regions (TKD) and green infrastructure.

This shared commitment was also appreciated by the Deputy Coordinating Minister for Food of the Republic of Indonesia, Hanif Faisol Nurofiq. He referred to this commitment as an aligned step in maintaining environmental stability and national food security.
