Sri Mulyono Air Base Prevents Land Fire from Spreading to Residential Areas

RRI.CO.ID, Palembang - The Sri Mulyono Herlambang Air Base responded quickly to a dry-land fire in Talang Keramat, Talang Kelapa District, Banyuasin Regency, South Sumatra, Saturday, September 12, 2026. The fire occurred near a residential area, prompting an immediate response to prevent it from spreading.
Personnel from the Sri Mulyono Herlambang Air Base deployed an Indonesian Air Force firefighting vehicle to the site to extinguish the fire and contain the affected area. The effort was aimed at preventing the fire from spreading to surrounding areas and reducing risks to nearby residents and the environment.

Commander of the Sri Mulyono Herlambang Air Base, Colonel Asep Wahyu Wijaya, praised the personnel for their swift response in handling the fire. He emphasized the importance of rapid action and preparedness when responding to emergencies around the air base.
“I appreciate the prompt response of all personnel involved in handling the fire. Please continue to prioritize safety while carrying out your duties,” Asep said.
The response was part of the air base's preparedness to assist the community in dealing with emergencies in areas surrounding the base. Personnel and firefighting equipment remain ready to be deployed whenever needed.
The rapid response was also intended to ensure that the fire did not escalate or cause wider impacts on the environment and nearby residential areas. Coordination and preparedness remain essential in responding to emergencies in the area.
“We continue to ensure that personnel and supporting equipment are ready to be deployed whenever needed to assist in handling emergencies in areas surrounding the air base,” he explained.
Through the response, the Sri Mulyono Herlambang Air Base demonstrated the Indonesian Air Force's support for efforts to protect public safety and the environment, particularly in addressing the risk of land fires in areas surrounding the air base.
