RRI.CO.ID, Semarang - Central Java women carried out ecological actions to support sustainable living during the 95th Anniversary Celebration of Central Java Nasyiatul Aisyiyah in Semarang Regency on Sunday, June 14, 2026. The event promoted environmental awareness through practical community-based conservation efforts.

The program took place at Sendang Senjoyo Spring in Tegalwaton Village, Tengaran District. Participants released eco enzyme solutions and 1,000 fish seedlings into local waters.

Chairperson of the Family Welfare Movement (PKK) of Central Java, Nawal Arafah Yasin, joined the activities. She encouraged Indonesian women to become guardians of civilization through environmental action.

Nawal said Central Java is facing growing ecological challenges linked to climate change. Communities have increasingly experienced floods, landslides, and environmental degradation in several areas.

She noted that the initiative could inspire broader public participation in protecting nature. She emphasized the importance of collective action in environmental conservation.

“Today, Nasyiatul Aisyiyah has carried out an extraordinary ecological activity by releasing fish seedlings and eco enzymes. The hope is that this can inspire the people of Central Java to participate in protecting the environment,” she said.

Nawal also stressed that environmental protection requires collaboration among communities, organizations, and local stakeholders. She said environmental preservation should not depend solely on the Indonesian government.

“This is one of the efforts that we hope will become a collaboration among the people of Central Java to jointly carry out ecological service actions,” she added.

The event formed part of the Ibu Jaga Bumi program promoting women's participation in conservation efforts. Activities include waste sorting, compost production, eco enzyme training, and environmental clean-up campaigns.

Central Java generates around six million tons of waste annually. The provincial government aims to make Central Java waste-free by 2028 through continuous environmental education.
