RRI.CO.ID, Jakarta - The Apurva Kempinski Bali has launched an incubation program called Seeds of Change as part of its Path to Sustainable Growth 2026 campaign, aiming to turn sustainability dialogue into practical solutions by empowering students and early-stage startups.

The program seeks to accelerate innovations in sustainable tourism and the green economy while broadening the reach of regenerative practices to local communities.

General Manager of The Apurva Kempinski Bali, Vincent Guironnet, unveiled the initiative during an online press conference in Jakarta on Tuesday, June 9, 2026, framing the program as a step toward practical, multisector collaboration.

"When we do something right, people will follow. It's not about being a leader, but about bringing more parties to collaborate and create greater impact," said Vincent, as quoted by Antara.

Seeds of Change will select 10 candidates for an eight-week mentorship program guided by experts from hospitality, sustainability consulting, and the financial sector. The mentorship aims to transfer knowledge and scale sustainable solutions by exposing participants to the hotel’s own practices, such as rooftop gardening, food waste management, and circular economy systems developed by The Apurva Kempinski Bali.

Charles Octoriano, the hotel’s Public Relations and Marketing Manager, emphasized the program’s broad eligibility. "Seeds of Change is not only intended for hotel and tourism operators. It is also open to startups from various sectors that focus on environmental, social, and sustainability issues."

Sustainability Consultant MVB, Alistair Speirs, highlighted the strategic role hotels can play in amplifying sustainability. "Hotels are interaction points that bring many people together. If sustainability principles are applied correctly, the impact can reach wider communities when guests return to their own neighborhoods."

Organizers expect the incubation to create a ripple effect by embedding sustainability understanding among young innovators and encouraging new solutions that address future development challenges. The inclusion of students aims to instill sustainability literacy early and cultivate a generation of problem-solvers for environmental and economic issues.

Seeds of Change is one of several initiatives under this year’s Path to Sustainable Growth program, which carries the theme "Regenerate for the Future." Through this initiative, The Apurva Kempinski Bali plans to move the sustainability agenda into concrete actions involving youth, businesses, academia, and communities to build a more regenerative tourism ecosystem. ***
