RRI.CO.ID, Jakarta - The Indonesian Ministry of Forestry has clarified that all nature tourism activities within the West Bali National Park (TNBB) are being conducted in strict accordance with official licensing procedures and prevailing laws. This statement serves as a response to public inquiries regarding ongoing activities within the conservation area.

The government emphasized that TNBB is a strategic conservation zone with high biodiversity value. To ensure transparency, a verification process involving both administrative reviews and field inspections was conducted to confirm that all operations align with the park’s ecological goals.

The Ministry confirmed that the activities are located specifically within the Utilization Zone of the park. This zone is legally designated for limited nature tourism, ensuring a balance between environmental protection and sustainable use.

The Ministry confirmed that the activities are supported by several key legal and administrative safeguards, starting with official approval in the form of valid business licenses for environmental service utilization and all required environmental documentation.

Furthermore, the park ensures integrated planning by requiring that every operation is strictly guided by the West Bali National Park Management Plan. Finally, the framework maintains direct oversight through the TNBB Center, which serves as the technical implementation unit responsible for providing systematic and continuous supervision of all activities on the ground.

Head of the Bureau of Public Relations and International Cooperation, Ristianto Pribadi, stressed that the government applies a precautionary principle to manage areas with high ecological sensitivity.

"West Bali National Park has a very important ecological function, so every form of utilization within it must go through a strict licensing process," Ristianto said on Monday, May 4, 2026, as quoted on the ministry's official website.

The Ministry’s oversight framework is specifically designed to prevent any deviations from core conservation principles. To achieve this, the government prioritizes habitat protection by ensuring that tourism activities do not cause any disruption to key wildlife habitats.

Additionally, the framework focuses on maintaining coastal integrity, aiming to preserve the unique coastal ecosystems that define the western tip of Bali. Ultimately, the ministry seeks to achieve sustainability by carefully balancing the economic value of tourism with the long-term preservation of the region's biodiversity.

The Ministry of Forestry reaffirmed its commitment to transparent and accountable management, ensuring that West Bali National Park remains a stronghold for biodiversity while providing sustainable benefits through regulated nature tourism. ***
