KBRN, Jakarta: The 28th annual Anugerah Musik Indonesia (AMI) Awards concluded on Wednesday, November 19, 2025, at Artpreneur, Jakarta, honoring the nation’s top musicians across 63 regular categories and five special awards.
This year’s ceremony carried the theme “Bhinneka Tunggal Suara” (Unity in Sound), reflecting Indonesia’s musical diversity and the belief that music unites voices across genres, cultures, and backgrounds.
Minister of Culture Fadli Zon expressed hope that the AMI Awards would continue to nurture future talent, calling the event the highest honor in the Indonesian music industry.
“We hope AMI represents the highest echelon. Through it, we will give birth to great musicians,” he said during a live broadcast on the Ministry of Culture’s YouTube channel.
The Minister noted that 5,227 songs were registered this year, underscoring the richness of Indonesia’s musical creativity and the enthusiasm of industry players to produce new, high‑quality works. He highlighted the introduction of a new category, Best Vocal Arrangement, as one of the ceremony’s milestones.
Fadli Zon emphasized that each year brings new musicians who add fresh color to the industry, ensuring the sustainability of Indonesia’s music ecosystem.
He concluded by expressing hope that Indonesian music will continue to advance, gain global recognition, and become part of international pop culture.
Meanwhile, AMI Foundation Chairperson Candra Darusman described Indonesian music as a divine gift. He stressed that the AMI Awards confer a distinctive brand upon recipients.
“They feel not only happy but also proud and honored. We must maintain this, including independence and ensuring that selection is based on quality, not just popularity,” he said.
