Bangladesh Writer Urges Reading Amid Growing AI Reliance

RRI.CO.ID, Jakarta - Bangladesh poet Aminur Rahman, urged young people to prioritize reading amid artificial intelligence (AI) growth. He affirmed literacy must extend across every aspect of everyday life.

In an interview with RRI Voice of Indonesia on Tuesday, September 8, 2026, he explained that literacy extends beyond literature to finance, technology, and daily decisions. Rahman argued education should connect more closely with practical life.

He also highlighted AI literacy as an increasingly important area. The poet also said people must understand and critically evaluate AI-generated information.

“Reading, reading, reading. Without reading, there is nothing in you,” Rahman said. He added that reading builds knowledge needed to evaluate AI's assistance.

He warned that simply copying AI-generated material could weaken people's literacy. Users should read results, check accuracy, and then add their own thoughts.

Moreover, Rahman also linked literacy with prosperity and helping others across society. He said knowledge should contribute beyond individual interests and personal benefits.

For young people, Rahman emphasized education, reading, experience, and controlled AI use. He warned excessive AI dependence could leave users increasingly less literate.
