Bappenas Releases Educational Video on Gender Mainstreaming

RRI.CO.ID, Jakarta – The Ministry of National Development Planning/Bappenas launched a Gender Mainstreaming (PUG) educational video in Jakarta to strengthen stakeholders’ understanding of integrating a gender perspective into national development. This step is a crucial part of Indonesia’s commitment to promoting inclusive development that is relevant to the global community.

This digital initiative was attended by approximately 200 participants from various government agencies, international partners, and academics on Wednesday, August 26, 2026.

The launch of this educational resource aims to facilitate access to gender equality training at both the central and regional levels.

The implementation of the PUG program is designed to ensure that women and men have equal rights and opportunities in every development process. The learning materials are now widely accessible through the official channel of the Ministry of National Development Planning.

“The success of the PUG instructional videos we are launching today as a learning resource cannot be measured solely by how many people have accessed them, but rather by the extent to which the knowledge gained is applied in the workplace and improves the quality of development policies and programs,” Deputy for Human Development and Culture at the Ministry of National Development Planning, Pungkas Bahjuri Ali, stated.

The application of rigorous gender analysis is considered crucial to the overall effectiveness of budget planning and public policy. Therefore, consistency among all government agencies is essential in implementing this strategy.

Meanwhile, Assistant Vice Minister at the Ministry of Women’s Empowerment and Child Protection (PPPA), Mardiah, said," Gender-responsive budgeting (GRB) is an obligation that must be implemented consistently. Through this video, we hope that officials at both the central and regional levels will become more adept at conducting gender analysis to ensure more responsive planning,”

This program also receives support from the Australian Government through the SKALA partnership program to accelerate gender equality in Indonesia. This international collaboration is expected to strengthen the quality of equitable development for all segments of society.
