RRI.CO.ID, Jakarta – Sixty students from four schools in Jakarta took part in Palestine Day at the Embassy of Palestine in Jakarta on Friday, August 21, 2026. The event, jointly organized by SMART 171 and the Embassy of Palestine, introduced Indonesian students to Palestine through a range of educational and interactive activities.

Palestinian Ambassador to Indonesia, Abdulfattah A.K Al-Sattari, expressed his appreciation for the support of the Indonesian people for Palestine. He said the Embassy of Palestine is open to Indonesians who wish to learn more about Palestine.

“Thank you for the love of the Indonesian people for Palestine. This is your home, all of you, " Al-Sattari said.

Meanwhile, SMART 171 Education Manager, Sarah, said Palestine Day is designed as a friendly, enjoyable, and educational learning space. She said the event gave students an opportunity to learn about Palestine through direct and interactive experiences.

"The embassy, which is usually closed to the public, was opened today as a friendly, fun, and educational learning space. The students learned many new things, and they were very happy, " she said.

During the event, students received a “Palestine Passport” containing information about several Palestinian cities and used it to take part in four interactive activities. These included a True or False game, a Palestinian map puzzle, the Tree of Voices, where students wrote messages and hopes, and a Photo Booth featuring Palestinian-themed accessories.

The students also visited the Gaza Today mini-exhibition, which showcased images depicting the situation in Gaza, and experienced a virtual tour of Al-Aqsa Mosque using virtual reality technology. For the students, the event provided an opportunity to learn about Palestine beyond the classroom while interacting directly with Palestinian diplomats.

Palestine Day served as a platform for Indonesian youth to connect with Palestine through education, culture, and direct interaction. The event also helped introduce the longstanding friendship between Indonesia and Palestine to a younger generation.
