RRI.CO.ID, Jakarta – The Indonesia's Ministry of Manpower has officially partnered with the GreatNusa platform and Microsoft Indonesia to accelerate the development of globally-standard digital talent. This strategic initiative was launched to address the rapidly growing demand for Artificial Intelligence (AI)-based workers in the international market.

Indonesia's Minister of Manpower, Yassierli, emphasized that mastering digital competencies has now become an absolute requirement for enhancing the competitiveness of the national workforce. This reform effort is considered crucial, given that technological disruption in the global market is actually creating far greater new job opportunities for job seekers.

“We cannot avoid digital transformation. Therefore, we must ensure that the Indonesian workforce possesses the competencies aligned with industry needs. Collaboration with the education sector and the technology sector is a vital step toward accelerating the development of digital talent ready to compete on a global scale,” he said while opening the AI Career Boost Day 2026 in Jakarta on Tuesday, July 28, 2026.

The importance of AI proficiency is reflected in LinkedIn data, which shows a 2.4-fold surge in demand for AI-skilled talent in Southeast Asia. In response to this trend, the government is optimizing vocational training centers and online job fairs to accelerate the placement of workers into the business sector.

“If we can build a robust ecosystem for developing digital talent, we can seize the same opportunities. What’s needed is collaboration, the courage to adapt, and a workforce ready to master new technologies,” he stated.

The government is optimistic that an integrated talent development ecosystem will accelerate the process from training to job placement. However, the development of these technical skills must be balanced with the strengthening of unique human competencies that cannot be replicated by artificial intelligence.

“No algorithm can replace empathy. No dataset can replicate wisdom. AI must be leveraged to enhance human qualities so that we can support the realization of the Indonesia Emas 2045 vision,” Yassierli affirmed.
