RRI.CO.ID, Bekasi - The Bekasi Regency Government expanded access to higher education through the 2026 Outstanding Youth Scholarship Program. The initiative aims to support talented students from Bekasi by helping them continue their university studies.

The program is implemented by the Bekasi Culture, Youth, and Sports Office. Registration is open from Monday, July 27, to Friday, August 7, 2026, for eligible university students across Indonesia.

Head of Bekasi Culture, Youth, and Sports Office, Iman Nugraha, said the scholarship program has entered its third year of supporting outstanding students. He explained that the selection process includes document verification, assessment, interviews, recipient determination, and scholarship distribution.

The program is open for both new students and active students up to the seventh semester at the time of registration. Students from public and private universities across Indonesia can apply as long as they meet the requirements.

Iman said the Bekasi Regency Government does not limit applicants to specific universities. After recipients are selected, the government will establish cooperation agreements with universities for scholarship distribution and academic monitoring.

The scholarship provides financial assistance based on students' Single Tuition Fees (UKT), with a maximum support of Rp5 million per semester. Students with UKT below the maximum amount will receive assistance according to their tuition fees.

"Our goal is to help students focus on completing their studies until the eighth semester without financial obstacles, so they can graduate on time," Iman said.

For selected new students, the assistance will continue until the eighth semester to support their education completion. Meanwhile, seventh-semester students will receive support until their final semester or for two semesters.

The program, which has been running since 2024, has helped students complete their education on schedule based on initial evaluations. Through this initiative, the Bekasi Regency Government aims to create wider higher education opportunities for young people and support regional development.
