RRI.CO.ID, Jakarta - Indonesia’s Ministry of Primary and Secondary Education is strengthening its commitment to creating a safe, inclusive, and child-friendly learning environment through the implementation of its Child-Friendly School Orientation Program (MPLS Ramah). The initiative aims to help new students adapt to school while fostering positive learning experiences from their very first days.
Indonesia's Minister of Primary and Secondary Education, Abdul Mu’ti, reviewed the second day of the orientation program at SDN Srengseng Sawah 15 in Jakarta on Tuesday, July 14, 2026. During the visit, he joined the school’s Morning Cheerful Activities, which included the Great Indonesian Children Exercise, singing the national anthem, and a group prayer before meeting first-grade students.
Mu’ti said the cheerful atmosphere reflected the collective support of various stakeholders in ensuring the successful implementation of the program. He expressed appreciation for the collaboration among the police, local education authorities, psychologists, teachers, parents, and community leaders.
“Thank God, today the atmosphere is cheerful, and the children have returned to school with great enthusiasm for learning. This positive situation is the result of collaboration among many parties working together to ensure that the Child-Friendly School Orientation Program runs smoothly,” Mu’ti said.
The minister emphasized that the program is designed not only to help students adjust to their new school environment but also to instill positive values through the Seven Habits of Great Indonesian Children. He added that the initiative encourages healthy social interactions and responsible digital habits so children can grow and learn in a supportive environment.
Mu’ti also acknowledged the important role of parents in supporting children during their transition into formal education. He said strong cooperation between schools and families is essential to helping students feel confident, secure, and ready to learn.
To strengthen support for school communities, the ministry is working with the Indonesian National Police (Polri) and the Indonesian Psychological Association (HIMPSI) to provide psychological assistance and educational sessions for parents. The collaboration is intended to create a safe environment for children both at school and at home while protecting students’ mental well-being and privacy.
The ministry hopes that cooperation among the government, schools, families, law enforcement agencies, professional organizations, and local communities will ensure every child enjoys a safe, inclusive, and welcoming educational environment. The Child-Friendly School Orientation Program is expected to become an important foundation for nurturing students' well-being, confidence, and lifelong enthusiasm for learning.
