RRI.CO.ID, Depok - The University of Indonesia's Faculty of Engineering (FT UI) in Depok, West Java, has taken a significant step in expanding its international academic network by signing a participation agreement with the Virtual Convergence College of Chung-Ang University (CAU), South Korea.

The agreement, formalized recently, is part of the Global Fintech Talent Development Program and marks a milestone in FT UI’s efforts to provide students with broader global learning opportunities.

The signing ceremony also marked the departure of three FT UI students selected to join a one-year exchange program at CAU. The students interacted directly with the CAU delegation, received orientation on academic and non-academic life in South Korea, and signed their Learning Agreements as part of their preparation.

In his remarks, FT UI Dean Kemas Ridwan Kurniawan emphasized the strategic importance of the partnership.

“Through the Global Fintech Talent Development Program, students will not only deepen their academic competencies but also gain global perspectives and readiness to face future industry challenges," he said, as quoted on FT UI's official website, on Thursday, July 9, 2026.

" We hope this collaboration will be the beginning of a closer and sustainable partnership between FT UI and Chung-Ang University,” he added.

Dean of CAU Virtual Convergence College, Wi Jong Hyun, expressed appreciation for the collaboration, noting that the program will serve as a platform for students to broaden international insights, strengthen technological and innovation skills, and build cross-border academic networks.

He also highlighted the potential for expanding cooperation in education, research, and academic exchanges in the future.

The collaboration is expected to pave the way for wider academic cooperation beyond student mobility, including joint research and curriculum development.

By fostering such partnerships, FT UI continues to demonstrate its commitment to preparing graduates with international competitiveness and reinforcing its role as a globally engaged institution. ***
