RRI.CO.ID, Malang - Brawijaya University’s Faculty of Medicine (FK UB) is advancing its internationalization agenda through exploratory talks with Peking University Health Science Center, one of the world’s leading medical institutions.

The meeting, held recently, marked a significant step toward collaboration in joint research and student exchange programs across undergraduate, postgraduate, and specialist medical education.

Discussions focused on developing joint research initiatives involving faculty and researchers from both institutions, aimed at producing scientific innovations that address global health challenges.

The two universities also explored student exchange programs to broaden academic experiences, strengthen global competencies, and foster cross-cultural understanding.

FK UB Dean Wisnu Barlianto emphasized that collaboration with world-class institutions is central to FK UB’s strategy for enhancing academic quality and expanding international networks.

“Peking University Health Science Center has a strong global reputation,” he said, as quoted on Brawijaya University's official website on Thursday, July 9, 2026.

"We hope this engagement evolves into sustainable cooperation, particularly in joint research and student mobility, adding value to education, research, and capacity building at FK UB," he added.

Ranked 13th globally and 2nd in Asia in the QS World University Rankings 2026, Peking University is recognized for excellence in education, research, innovation, and international collaboration. Its Health Science Center is a premier hub for medical education and health sciences research with global impact.

This initiative aligns with Indonesia’s Tridarma Perguruan Tinggi mandate--education, research, and community service--by fostering international partnerships that benefit faculty, researchers, and students.
