RRI.CO.ID, Bogor - The Indonesian government is strengthening coordination across ministries and local authorities to ensure that its School Revitalization Program delivers tangible benefits for students nationwide. The initiative is aimed at improving learning environments through better educational infrastructure and facilities.

The commitment was highlighted during a visit to State Elementary School (SDN) of Cimahpar 5 in Bogor, West Java, Wednesday, 10 June 2026, where Minister of Primary and Secondary Education, Abdul Mu’ti accompanied Coordinating Minister for Human Development and Culture, Pratikno to monitor the implementation of the national priority program.

The School Revitalization Program focuses on upgrading educational facilities to create safer, more inclusive, and more supportive learning environments. The program includes classroom rehabilitation, construction of new classrooms, sanitation improvements, and the provision of learning support facilities.

Abdul Mu’ti said the initiative is designed to ensure that students can learn in environments that support their academic and personal development. He emphasized that strong oversight and inter-ministerial collaboration are essential to ensure that every project is implemented effectively and benefits the quality of education.

The school visit also served as an opportunity for the government to assess progress on the ground, identify challenges, and determine follow-up measures needed to accelerate implementation. Officials said continuous monitoring is necessary to ensure that projects are completed on time, meet quality standards, and remain accountable.

Coordinating Minister Pratikno, stressed that the success of the program depends on cooperation among all stakeholders. “Through this visit, we can see that the school revitalization project has been completed with a budget of approximately Rp2.6 billion. The project was implemented through community-based management by a local committee, with supervision and support from the Ministry of Primary and Secondary Education, the Bogor City Government, and other stakeholders,” he said.

Bogor Deputy Mayor Jenal Mutaqin described SDN Cimahpar 5 as an example of how government investment can directly benefit students. Meanwhile, Principal Iim Rohimah expressed appreciation to President Prabowo Subianto and the Ministry of Primary and Secondary Education for supporting the revitalization project. “With this assistance, we now have proper school facilities, which will help improve the quality of learning compared to previous years,” she said.

The program is part of the implementation of Presidential Instruction No. 7 of 2025 on the Acceleration of Development and Revitalization of Early Childhood, Primary, and Secondary Education Institutions. Beyond improving school infrastructure, the initiative is expected to help reduce the number of out-of-school children, increase school participation rates, strengthen inclusive education, and improve students’ literacy and numeracy skills across Indonesia.
