RRI.CO.ID, Jakarta - The Ministry of Communication and Digital, in collaboration with the global platform YouTube, officially launched the Digital Wellbeing Guidebook at Garuda Spark, Central Jakarta, on Monday, June 8, 2026. The launch of this guidebook is a concrete commitment from YouTube to support the implementation of child protection regulations in the digital space thru practical and extensive education for parents and educators.

The Minister of Communication and Digital, Meutya Hafid, stated that the presence of this book is a real answer to the high number of parents in Indonesia who are still confused about monitoring their children's digital activities.

"We see that many parents are still asking how to accompany their children using social media, how to respond to online games, and how to keep them safe in the digital space." Therefore, we are launching this guidebook," Meutya said.

As a digital platform, YouTube fulfills its responsibilities in accordance with Permenkomdigi Number 9 of 2026 by providing education and practical guidance for parents.

"The launch of the Digital Wellbeing Guidebook is a manifestation of YouTube's responsibility as a platform to support parental education, so that the implementation of child protection regulations can be more effective at the family level," a YouTube representative explained.

The preparation of this guidebook involves YouTube with the Ministry of Communication and Digital, Universitas Indonesia, Cipto Mangunkusumo Hospital (RSCM), and relevant experts.

Meutya emphasized that the goal of child protection in the digital space is not to limit access to technology, but to ensure that children use it safely, healthily, and in accordance with their developmental stages.
