Government Launches the AKTIF Animation Program to Develop Talented Animators

RRI.CO.ID, Bali - The Indonesia's Ministry of Creative Economy has officially launched the Creative Acceleration (AKTIF) Animation: Unreal Engine Training program to enhance the readiness of Indonesian animation talent to face the increasingly dynamic technological developments in the industry. The AKTIF Animation program is designed to accelerate talent who already have a background in animation.
In a press release received by RRI VOI from the Ministry of Creative Economy on Monday, May 4, 2026, Indonesia's Minister of Creative Economy, Teuku Riefky Harsya, affirmed the importance of strengthening technology-based talent as the key to increasing the competitiveness of the national animation industry. "This program is expected to bridge industry needs with the readiness of adaptive and competent human resources," Teuku said.
Meanwhile, the Deputy for Media Creativity at the Ministry of Creative Economy, Cecep Rukendi, stated that this training focuses on improving the technical capacity of talent through the utilization of the latest technology in the animation production process. "This training covers the use of Unreal Engine for the creation process and streamlining the 3D animation workflow," Cecep Rukendi conveyed.
This program, held at Brown Bag Films, Bali, Denpasar, is the result of a collaboration between the government, associations, and animation industry players. He also expressed his appreciation for the synergy between the various parties in delivering a program aligned with industry needs.
"On this occasion, we express our appreciation to AINAKI and Brown Bag Films Bali for their commitment to supporting the strengthening of the creative talent ecosystem. This initiative demonstrates how collaboration delivers programs relevant to market dynamics," Cecep stated.
This training focuses on the use of real-time production technology through Unreal Engine to improve production process efficiency. Twenty-five participants selected from approximately 70 applicants will participate in intensive training from May 4 to 29, 2026. Participants are talented individuals with a foundation in animation and will be encouraged to strengthen their technical competencies and work readiness to meet industry needs.
