Prabowo Envisions Digital Screens and Native Teachers for Indonesian Schools

RRI.CO.ID, Cilacap – Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto visited the renovation of school facilities at SMA Negeri 1 Cilacap, Central Java, on Wednesday, April 29, 2026. In addition to reviewing the school building, he also shared his vision regarding the addition of digital screens and foreign native teachers in Indonesian schools.
President Prabowo Subianto, reaffirmed his plan to make massive investments in the education sector. He made this statement in a press statement after visiting the renovated facilities at the high school.
He set a target to renovate 100,000 schools in the coming year. In addition to physical infrastructure, the president emphasized that the quality of education must also be improved through digital technology.
He said, “I don’t want to stop there. We must also improve the quality of the schools that have already been renovated. I want every classroom to have a digital screen.”
In addition to the use of technology in the classroom, the President also plans to build a central studio in Jakarta. This studio will feature native teachers to teach foreign languages to students starting from elementary school.
“And later we’ll have a central studio in Jakarta, with the best teachers, for example, to teach English, we’ll hire native speakers, who can teach anyone who needs it. As for Mandarin, we want to ensure our students can speak English, Mandarin, and several other foreign languages. Starting in elementary school,” Prabowo conveyed.
During the visit, the President viewed the renovations of seven classrooms and eight restrooms. He also monitored the Free Nutritious Meals program at the school.
