RRI.CO.ID, Bandung - Indonesia’s Ministry of Religious Affairs enhances early Quranic education programs through the opening of the West Java Provincial Quranic Stage (Panggung Al-Qur’an) event in Bandung on Sunday, April 19, 2026. The program focuses on four key measures: strengthening regulations, lifting the registration moratorium, scholarships, and teacher incentives.
Sub-Director of Madrasah Diniyah Takmiliyah and Quranic Education, Aziz Syafiuddin, outlined the government’s strategic approach to improving Early Childhood Quranic Education (PAUDQu) quality. He represented the Director of Islamic Boarding Schools during the official opening session.
Before delivering his main statement, he affirmed equal institutional status for PAUDQu across Indonesia. He said they deserve the same recognition as other formal education institutions nationwide.
“The Smart Indonesia Program is one form of the state’s presence in ensuring children from low-income PAUDQu families can access Quranic education. We continue to encourage this program to reach wider and more targeted beneficiaries,” he said.
Besides, he explained that regulatory finalization is underway through a Minister of Religious Affairs Decree. The government is also preparing to lift the registration moratorium for PAUDQu institutions nationwide.
Additional support includes scholarships for students and financial incentives for teachers across regions. The program is also strengthened by Education Operational Assistance funding to improve overall service quality.
The Quranic Stage event gathered participants from 16 regional branches across West Java. It showcased talents selected through competitive processes at district and city levels.
Bekasi Regency won the overall champion title at the event after strong performances. The program is expected to produce a Quranic generation that is intellectually capable, spiritually strong, and morally grounded.
