RRI.CO.ID, Jakarta - Indonesia keeps on buildng up its commitment to expanding strategic international partnerships to drive the transformation of its education system and enhance the national research ecosystem.
Director General of Research and Development at the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, and Technology, Fauzan Adziman, made the statement during the 5th Education Investment Forum 2026 in Jakarta on Tuesday, April 14, 2026.
According to a press release issued by the ministry, Fauzan said that Indonesia is opening opportunities for collaboration with global education institutions to strengthen national capacity, particularly in talent development, research, and innovation.
“International cooperation should not be seen merely as expanding access to education, but must be directed toward strategic partnerships that contribute to long-term national development across economic, social, and environmental sectors,” Fauzan said at the forum, which carried the theme “Funding the Future of Learning.”
He also noted that the success of international partnerships depends on the ability of all parties to understand existing gaps, ensuring that cooperation is effective, sustainable, and mutually beneficial.
The ministry is also encouraging the development of adaptive collaboration schemes, including joint research and academic programs aligned with national priorities.
The forum brought together government representatives and global institutions to share insights on building education partnerships in Indonesia, including adapting cooperation models and strengthening collaboration with local partners.
In addition, Fauzan added that well-designed and sustainable international partnerships will be key to enhancing the contribution of education and research to national development amid global challenges.
